Aleksandra Kingo and Jaki-Jo Hannan will be engaging in a chat about Alekansdra career, the involvement with the pioneering platform promoting women in photography Equal Lens and the highlights and challenges of pushing creativity to its limits.
Aleksandra Kingo is a London based photographer and director known for her playful, quirky style realised with use of bold colours and wit. She walks the razor's edge between discomfort and sexiness, toying with viewer's senses of disgust and attraction whilst creating surreal worlds where lipstick stains are a blessing and faux pas comes as standard.
Equal Lens is an initiative that seeks to redress the gender imbalance in commercial photography. It’s not just a matter of fairness, at a time when women shoppers make 85% of consumer purchases, excluding talented female photographers just doesn’t make any sense.
Inspired by Free The Bid, we are calling for agencies to include women and men in every photographers list. We are encouraging clients and agencies to request and produce inclusive lists. And to make these lists easier, we are championing the work of women photographers on our website and beyond.
Together, we can give women photographers an equal shot.

Jaki Jo won a D&AD New Blood Yellow Pencil that launched her into the industry. She started her career at AMV BBDO and then made the move to ‘Cannes Lions 2018 Agency of the year’ adam&eveDDB as a creative Integrated Producer. Being passionate about her industry and equality, she was named one of Cannes Lions See It Be It, ‘Future Female Leaders’.
